Double knitting is the process of making two
fabrics at the same
time in a manner that will make them able to be worn with either side
out. They are connected where the two colors change sides
from
front to back. This introduction to double knitting includes
a
variety of basic designs as well as instructions on including pockets
into your scarf, in which could be kept gloves or tissues.
For
this sample 180 yards each of two contrasting sport weight yarns were
used, and the finished scarf was about 6 inches wide by 36 inches long.
We have sport weight yarns available in 100% Wool Natural Colors, Traditional Colors,
and Kaleidoscope Colors;
as well as Silk Blends, Cotton Blends and Alpaca Blends.
