Gauge in fingering weight: 8 sts = 1 inch
Classical music is full of wonderful examples of the theme and
variation concept. Here is a basic ribbed sock with instructions for
some variations on the theme including using either sport or fingering
weight yarn.
The pair of socks in sport weight takes two
2-ounce skeins of painted yarn and in fingering weight takes one
4-ounce skein.
The sock on the left is made in our Kaleidoscope Yarn,
color Firecracker (sport weight), while the sock on the right is made
in our fingering weight 100% wool, solid color Willow.
